Can you imagine feeling…

When the Seasons Change: How to Protect Your Energy

Can you imagine waking up on the first day of school? The air feels different, the routines are shifting, and all the emotions are swirling. I’m excited. I’m anxious. I’m eager to dive into this new season—and my feelings are turned up to a solid level 10.

As a mom, I’m looking forward to new beginnings. As a therapist, I’m preparing for the busy season ahead—more clients, fuller days, and more moving parts in my own life. It’s a lot to hold, and while much of it is good, I still have to pause and ask myself: What will balance look like now?

Over the years, I’ve learned to treat these moments of change as intentional checkpoints. I stop and reflect on what needs to be adapted, what needs to be let go of, and what will help me thrive—not just get through the day. This isn’t automatic. It’s a skill I’ve built through both my training and my own lived experience.

When I work with high-achieving women, this is often where we focus. Seasonal shifts—whether it’s the school year starting, a new job, or a major life transition—can sneak up and overwhelm even the most capable person. Without the right tools or support, these changes can tip you into burnout faster than you realize.

The truth? Self-care alone isn’t enough. In seasons of increased demands, self-care without a plan is like trying to clean up an oil spill with a napkin. You need a strategy. You need systems that actually work for your life. You need support that helps you adapt while protecting your energy and your mental health.

If you’re feeling the weight of a changing season, you don’t have to navigate it alone. With the right tools, this can be a time of growth—not depletion.

If you’re ready to create a plan that helps you thrive through change, let’s talk.

I offer virtual sessions for women in Florida and Colorado who want practical tools, emotional support, and strategies to protect their energy.
